Prince S'chn T'gai Spock of Vulcan, engaged to Prince James Tiberius Kirk of Earth through an arrangement made by their parents many years ago, writes to his intended on the day of his birth in the interest of diplomacy. Jim is not interested in diplomacy. Though there is no precedent set for the commencement of a written correspondence begun due to these specific parameters, I will strive to maintain, to the best of my abilities and with ample preparatory research previously conducted, the appropriate level of formality between us, based on a number of factors, primarily examples of a similar nature.

When Spock chose Starfleet over the Vulcan Science Academy, he had not anticipated cohabiting with the most illogical, irrational, emotional human he ever met. James T. Kirk, the lone human student in a predominately Vulcan preschool, is causing chaos, yet again. Instructer T'rila is forced to discover the source of the problem when the child's bondmate, Spock, does not immediately come to her classroom the moment the tears begin.

In which Mr. Spock hates Chekov and terrorizes the crew, Captain Kirk has the best poker face on the ship, Chekov never means to eavesdrop, Uhura gets some curves, Kirk gets cock-blocked, Spock gets off, McCoy pulls rank, Spock pulls Kirk's pigtails, and love sucks.

"Jim constantly feels greedy, feels ungrateful in the way he covets these small moments and always, secretly, pathetically yearns for more." Jim wishes Spock would be more outwardly affectionate, and he hates himself for it.

After capturing John Harrison on the Klingon home world, Jim discovers the most curious thing about his prisoner: he is an Omega. Drawn to him despite his better judgment Jim has to face up to his Alpha side in way he's never had to before. When the horrible truth about Marcus’s treatment of Khan is revealed, Jim finds himself desperate to make things right for the Omega – even if it could cost him his command.

After Khan's and Marcus' defeat, one of Marcus' lackeys kills all of Khan's crew, but miscalculates when he tries to do the same to Khan himself. Khan exacts his revenge and then goes after the one he blames for all that has happened to him- James T. Kirk. But when he discovers that Kirk's recovery is because of his own blood, everything changes.

Winona is called to fix the cock-up of the Yorktown's engines. She uses one of the science-bitches to help her do it.

Spock realizes during the ending events of STID that he is in love with his captain. He does not intend to tell him.
